A special thank you to TOMS
This week I received a package in the mail from TOMS Headquarters in California. In it was a letter and a handmade scarf from Ethiopia.
The letter reads -
In 2006, Blake Mycoskie had an idea. Sell shoes, and for every pair sold, give a pair to a child in need. Now over 100,000 children have received their first pair of shoes and you are a huge part of that accomplishment. By Sharing our story, our product, or our photos on your blog, you are helping us change the world one step at a time.
In thanks for supporting TOMS, we would like to give you an early holiday present: a uniqu scarf handcrafted in Ethiopia. When Blake was in Ethiopia last year, the people who made these scarves to support themselves and their families inspired him. He has given them to all of our staff, and wants you to have one, too.
Join us in our holiday goal to give 30,000 shoes in Ethiopian villages near where these scarves were made. Please enjoy this early holiday gift from all of us at TOMS.
Happy Holidays!
Your TOMS Family.
I want to thank everyone over at TOMS for the nice gift and for appreciating the site. We have enjoyed putting the site together and helping to spread the TOMS message and look forward to big things from TOMS in 2009.
My camera has stopped working so I can’t take a picture of the scarf, but from what I can tell it looks like the scarf around Blake’s neck in this video. I will post a photo of the scarf as soon as I can find a camera that works.
